Join Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CISCT) AmeriCorps
Our AmeriCorps members provide the support that all students need to thrive in school and succeed in life. They work to end education inequity by providing mentorship to elementary and middle school students in Central Texas public schools; and by supporting our early childhood ASPIRE Program and out of school programming on HACA (Housing authority of the City of Austin) sites. We place 60+ AmeriCorps Members serving across 35 campuses in Austin, Manor, Lockhart, Elgin, Hays and San Marcos ISDs.
AmeriCorps Mentors collaborate with CISCT Program Managers and school-based staff to support students through individual, small-group, and campus-wide services to increase access to education opportunities. By building deep relationships and focusing on strengthening the skills our students need to succeed in school, our members ensure all students can achieve in life.
AmeriCorps Early Childhood Teaching Assistants build capacity for increased early childhood services and family engagement by assisting in the ASPIRE Program. Americorps Out of School Time Assistants build capacity for increased after-school services at four public housing properties with the SmartKids Program.
AmeriCorps Education Award Only (EAO) are members completing their internship with Communities In Schools of Central Texas. EAO interns are placed a K-12 school campuses across Central Texas Independent School Districts.
