In 2021, Communities In Schools of Central Texas officially began the All in for Kids campaign, a $17.6 million campaign to establish a permanent home and provide critical support for strategic programming to serve more Central Texas students. In December 2023, the campaign exceeded its fundraising goal and ensured the success of the capital campaign. Thank you to all our donors, building partners, consultants, and staff that made the success of this transformational project possible!

Campaign Timeline

2018

Rent Increases in Austin, TX

In 2018, residential and corporate rents skyrocketed, not only displacing many individuals, but also forcing organizations that had been embedded in their communities for years to relocate and start from scratch. While we were still on our active lease, we started to consider our options to control our occupancy costs for the long term so that we could direct resources to our students and families rather than skyrocketing rent.

2019

A Season of Growth

2019 saw the Communities In Schools of Central Texas team grow in capacities, services, and number. Through our Board of Directors, we partnered with Beacon Nonprofit Consulting to execute a feasibility study to determine the best next step.

2020

New Beginnings

The Board of Directors decided a new building was the most cost effective and an ideal long-term solution. The building committee was assembled. Partnerships with Sabre Commercial, Gensler, and Square1 began.

2021

Finding a New Home

Communities In Schools identified land and, through the generosity of six donors, purchased the land outright. The capital campaign committee was established, and the board approved the All in for Kids Campaign!

2022

First Steps

Building design permits approved and fundraising began.

2023

Full Steam Ahead

Ground was broken, and construction began in June. The Public phase of the fundraising campaign began in September.

2024

New Home!

The building will be complete and Communities In Schools of Central Texas will move into its new home!
