The Ramirez family began receiving wraparound services from the Communities In Schools Care Coordination program in 2015. The family received therapy sessions and access to resources to help them meet their family goals. That same year, Communities In Schools nominated the family to participate in the Austin American-Statesman’s Season for Caring campaign. Thanks to Season for Caring, the Ramirez family received gift cards to use for groceries and clothing, a professional family photo shoot and framed family photos, a new dining room table and chairs, a new washer and dryer, and other gifts and services to help them get back on their feet. In addition to the help the Ramirez family received during Season for Caring, additional donations from the campaign allowed CIS to provide emergency assistance to many other families.
Today, mom and kids are doing well. Juana has a good job and the family is looking forward to their future together.
