Ms. Michele Guzmán, PhD
Michele Guzmán, PhD is Senior Director of Evaluation for the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, a nonpartisan, non-profit organization established in 2013 to provide policy research and development to improve mental health services in Texas. Prior to joining the institute, she worked at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health for six years. In addition to leading and coordinating the Hogg Foundation’s evaluation efforts, Michele developed and managed grant programs related to mental health provider workforce issues and mental health research. Michele taught both undergraduate and graduate counseling psychology courses at The University of Texas at Austin for 10 years and served as Assistant Vice President for Diversity Education Initiatives from 2007-2011. Michele received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Vassar College and completed her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, State University of New York. She has also completed graduate coursework in Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. Michele served for two years (2014-2016) as Presiden-Elect and then President, of the Magellan International School Parents Association, where her two children, ages 8 and 11 attend. She participated in Leadership Texas in 2009, and served on the Leadership Texas Committee of the Board (2009-2011). Michele enjoys walking, listening to audiobooks, and wine tasting.
